Every two years, the Hudson Public Library presents One Book, One Hudson, a community reading event whose goal is to get the Hudson community to read and discuss the
same book and experience various engaging programs. Reading the book and other selected titles is highly encouraged for book club discussions but optional for attending our scheduled programs.
One Book, One Hudson 2026 will take place from January 2 through February 28. This year's theme is Winnie the Pooh based on the series of books written by A. A. Milne and illustrated by E. H. Shepard. The books feature a group of stories about a teddy bear and his friends which occurs in the Hundred Acre Wood.
Winnie the Pooh first appeared as Edward bear in a poem from When We Were Very Young, a book in verse written in 1924. 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of Winnie-the-Pooh, the first book about Pooh and his friends.
