Benefits Enrollment
The Town offers three plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield: Blue Care Elect (PPO), Network Blue (HMO), and Network Blue Select (HMO) for active employees and the Medex 2 or Medicare Advantage PPO plan for retirees who are on Medicare. Flexible Spending Accounts let you set aside a portion of your paycheck tax-free to pay for certain health and dependent care expenses. Contributions are deducted from your paycheck prior to federal, state, and social security taxes being computed. Because you don't pay taxes on your contributions, you save money.
Flexible Spending and Dependent Care Accounts are yearly enrollments and forms must be submitted during open enrollment or during onboarding.
Health Care
Eligible expenses and services include non-cosmetic medical, dental, and vision care services; prescription medications; orthodontics, prescription eyeglasses, contact lenses, laser eye surgery, mental health services, alternative health therapies (e.g. chiropractic, acupuncture), and more! Maximum Annual Health Care Election: $3,300.
Dependent Care
Dependent children under age 13, elderly dependents, and dependents with special needs. Eligible expenses include day care, pre-school, before/after school care, day camp, elder day care. Maximum Annual Dep. Care Election: $5,000 per family.
Life Insurance for benefit-eligible employees is provided through Standard Insurance Company. Basic Life policies are available to both active employees ($10,000) and retirees ($5,000). For more information, refer to the links below.
New employees can enroll on their first day of employment with a completed Base Form. Subsequent enrollment - during the annual open enrollment period - is subject to completion of a Medical History Statement and carrier approval.

2025 Open Enrollment (for FY2026) Information*
The Town of Hudson's Annual Open Enrollment period will take place from May 1st through May 30th, 2025, at noon. This is the time when employees may enroll in or make changes to their medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. Open Enrollment is the only period during the year when changes are permitted unless you experience a qualifying life event (e.g., marriage, divorce, birth, or adoption).
During this time, you may: Add or remove dependents; enroll in or drop coverage; and/or make changes to your current medical, dental, or vision plan.
All changes must be submitted to the Treasurer’s Office by May 30, 2025, for coverage to become effective on July 1, 2025.
